Facing Common Challenges: A Workshop for Technology Integrators

John Raymond, Director,
Technology-in-Education Laboratory (TIELab), Woodbury, CT

Eduardo Villavicencio,
Director of Academic Technology, Greens Farms Academy, Westport, CT

Everyone associated with technology integration and professional development has amassed a great deal of experience and wisdom on what works and what doesn't. But rarely is this information shared in a systematic way. This one-day workshop is designed to facilitate sharing of good practices and ideas in technology integration in three areas:

Through varied activities including role playing, breakout discussions, entering lesson ideas into an online database for future retrieval and more, attendees will engage in six hours of vitalizing cross-pollination meant to strengthen the technology integration efforts at each of their schools and build a lasting and supportive community.

Part I: Exporting Favorites: A Group Sharing of Favorite Curricular Uses of Common Productivity Software and Free Web Tools Part II: Best Practices on Teacher Empowerment and Partnership building Part III: Building a Meaningful & Successful Professional Development Model: What Lessons Have We Learned?

Each participant will need a laptop computer, preferably with a wireless card.
